Hello John
john@primejewellery.com
A B2B foodservice importer with one job: source pantry
staples direct from named producers, and supply them to
South African kitchens at restaurant rigour. No blends. No
relabels. No second pressings.
Origin Asia exists because the wholesale spice trade is, frankly, broken. A 1 kg "paprika" bottle on a generic catering shelf can be five things in a trench-coat — a blend of three origins, two grades, and a year-old top-up. We don't do that. Every line we ship is traced to a single named producer, sealed at the source, and dated.
La Dalia has produced Pimentón de la Vera at the same Extremaduran site since 1913. The capsicums are hand-picked in October, smoked over oak in secaderos for 12–15 days, then stone-milled. The mill is small enough that on a quiet Tuesday you can walk the floor.
Single origin, in our language, means: one producer, one harvest year, one D.O.P. region, one milling line. The grade — sweet, hot or bittersweet — is the producer's own classification. We don't blend grades to hit a price point. If the harvest is short, the line is short.
Origin Asia is the house collection — the entry-level pimentón and the kitchen wearables. La Alacena and La Brassa are partner houses we represent in South Africa. La Dalia is the producer behind every Premium and Origin Select 1 kg paprika line. Promotions is a rotating discount window, not a separate brand.
Every SKU is shipped with a batch certificate. Trade tiers — Restaurant, Caterer, Hotel, Distributor — unlock on account approval, applied at checkout, tied to volume rather than headcount. Delivery is typically 24–72 hours JHB · CPT · DBN.
We won't private-label. We won't blend grades. We won't relabel anyone's tin as ours. And we won't carry a producer we haven't visited at least once a year.
